Is A Lenovo Laptop Good? Discover The Brand’s Models

Lenovo Laptop: One of the leading manufacturers of notebooks in the national market, Lenovo is a Chinese brand with a global reach that sells notebooks, laptops, and smartphones, among others.

Even the manufacturer has owned Motorola since 2016. Among portable machines, it is common to wonder whether the Lenovo notebook is good, and what we can anticipate is that it depends on the user’s needs.

With lines that serve different audiences, Lenovo has a line aimed at all users, such as the Ideapad, models designed for the business world, Lenovo ThinkPad, or the Legion line for the gamer public.

Next, we will present the main lines of Lenovo notebooks, from the most basic models to the most robust. See what the main features of each one are and find out if a Lenovo notebook is worth it.

Lenovo Ideapad Laptop

Ideapad is the broadest series of Lenovo notebooks. It comprises models that serve the most basic users, who need a good laptop to surf the internet, students who need a machine with good battery life and text, photo or video editing software, and notebooks aimed at gamers and the business public.

Ideapad 1

Composed of more basic models, the Ideapad 1 line was developed for those who need a good laptop for studies and work. With an all-plastic body and 14 or 15-inch versions, the screen does not have a TN screen with only HD resolution. All devices have AMD Ryzen processors, 256 GB SSD storage, and 8 GB RAM.

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 3, 5, 7
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Graphics: Integrated AMD
  • Storage: SSD 256GB SSD
  • Screen: TN, HD

IdeaPad 3

The Ideapad 3 line is broader and consists of basic and intermediate notebooks with a body made of plastic. Notebooks are equipped with Intel and 3i processors, without AMD Ryzen processors. Divided into two nomenclatures, the IDEAP 3i models have Intel processors, while the Ideapad 3-only models have AMD Ryzen chips. Due to the large number of versions, specifications also vary greatly. Below we list the configurations that you can find on Lenovo Ideapad 3 notebooks

  • Processor: 7th 11th Gen Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 / AMD Ryzen 5, 5
  • RAM: 8GB – expandable up to 20GB in some options;

  • Storage: 256 GB SSD
  • Screen: 15.6-inch HD or Full-HD;

IdeaPad Gaming 3i

The IdeaPad Gaming 3i, on the other hand, is Lenovo’s most affordable gamer model with a GTX 1650 graphics chip or more full versions with RTX 3050 or RTX 3060. Lenovo’s entry-level gamer line has a neutral gaming notebook design, making the model more versatile. The Gaming 3i line also features a 15-inch IPS screen and Full HD resolution.

Performance is up to 11th or 12th generation Intel i5 or i7 processors or 5th or 6th generation AMD Ryzen 7 chips. The storage is in an SSD of 256 or 512 GB, and the RAM is 8 GB.

  • Processor: 7th 11th Gen Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 / AMD Ryzen 5, 5
  • RAM: 8GB – expandable up to 20GB in some options;
  • Graphics: GTX 1650 4 GB or RTX 3050
  • Storage: 256 GB SSD

Ideapad Flex 5i

Another good option is the 2-in-1 notebook, Ideapad Flex 5i, the model with a screen that rotates 360°, is touch-sensitive, and has IPS technology, which has the main benefit of not distorting colors. The device can be found with an 11th-generation Intel processor and SSD storage. This type of notebook offers versatility to the user as it can be used with a tablet and has other interesting benefits for illustrators and graphic artists.

Lenovo Legion Laptop

The Legion line is aimed specifically at the gamer public and those looking for a more robust machine for intense use, and this is obvious in the look of the Lenovo Legion 5 with a backlit keyboard whose colors can be configured in some versions. Currently, the line has two options available in the domestic market: the Lenovo Legion 5i and the Legion 5, and, as with the Ideapad line, the difference between them is the Intel or AMD Ryzen processor, respectively. Other outstanding specifications are the IPS screen with full HD resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate and the dedicated GPU that can be RTX 3050 or RTX 3060, depending on the model.

  • Processor: 11th or 12th generation Core i7 or 5th generation Ryzen 7
  • RAM: Up to 16 GB – expandable to 32 GB;
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 or 3060 6GB;
  • Storage: 512GB SSD;

Lenovo Yoga Notebook

If you’re looking for a portable, versatile, and durable laptop, Lenovo also has a full line of 2-in-1 and ultra-slim notebooks that cater to people with the same preferences. The notebooks of the Lenovo Yoga line, composed of the Yoga 9i and Yoga 7i, share many specifications with the models of the Ideapad line, with some interesting additions and, of course, the differential of being convertible.

We highlight the Thunderbolt 4 USB ports that allow faster data transfer and Wi-Fi 6 for connections up to 40% faster. The fingerprint reader and Lenovo Active Pen come with some models and can be purchased separately. This pen offers an unparalleled experience for drafters, designers, designers, and editors who can use the machine however they want.

Let’s go to the specifications of the ultra-thin Lenovo Yoga 9i :

  • Processor: 12th generation Intel Core i7
  • RAM: From 16 GB
  • Graphics: Integrated – Intel Iris Xu Graphics;
  • Storage: SSD 512;
  • OLED screen: 14-inch touch screen with HD resolution – rotates up to 360º;
